Template licensing FAQs
-
Purchasing a template grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-seat license.
If you would like to use the template to build any additional websites, you must purchase an additional template.
Please see terms and conditions for more details about the licensing.
-
Yes, feel free to make the site your own once you’ve customised it.
The only time you may need to keep my site credit is if you are a website designer building a site for a client project.
Please see terms and conditions for more details.
-
The brand mark that you see on the template in the footer comes with the site, as seen, as part of the licence.
If you wish to change the colour or swap it for a different brand mark in my collection, you will need to order that separately from my shop.
Squarespace FAQs
-
You need to set up a free Squarespace account using the email address that you have used to purchased the template from me.
After you have customised the site you need to purchase a domain name.
And you need to pay Squarespace to host your website, once you are ready to go live.
-
Unless otherwise stated any of my websites are fine with the most economical Basic plan.
If you would like extras such as more robust analytics opt for the Core plan.
A full list of features and prices can be found here.
Whichever payment plan you choose, I would always recommend going for the annual plan as it comes with a discount.
You can change plans by contacting Squarespace support.

No, you can either get a year’s free domain with your annual Squarespace subscription.

I would advise researching the cost beyond the first year for both options.

No, you can take advantage of the 3 month trial before you have to pay for hosting.

Website branding FAQs
-
If you have bought a template, the name of the site acts as a temporary or permanent logo.
You can either change the name of the site to your name, and it will be styled in the same font as the one you see.
Or you can insert a PNG with a transparent background of your wordmark logo.
-
Yes, the template you have bought comes with one brand mark, as you see in the demo.
If you would like to change the brand mark for a different design, or order a different colour of the same design, you can do so in my shop.
-
If you're a designer, using my template for a client project, the credit must be retained.
However, for personal website use, you have the option to remove my name and replace it with your own once you’ve customised the site.
Website customisation FAQs
-
Squarespace is designed to be very customisable. You can change the colours, fonts, images and layouts.
If you would like me to customise the template for you, please see my template restyling service.
-
I can absolutely customise your chosen template with my template restyling service.
This is perfect for creative business owners who lack the time, skills and desire to do it themselves.
-
Providing your website it fairly close to the template as it was when it was installed, I can help you with issues relating to the template.
The best thing to do is contact me, letting me know what the problem is.
-
I advise duplicating pages and/or duplicating or saving each section of your site before you customise it as a back up, just in case you make a mistake.
I also recommend saving your changes regularly.
If you accidentally delete a page, they are stored in the trash can for 30 days.
-
No, the great thing about Squarespace is that it is constantly updating it’s features, which means you can do a lot of great things without the need for code.
if you want to add code you can, but unfortunately I will not be able to help you with that, and it’s worth noting that Sqauarespace don’t tend to offer support where code is used.
-
There are all sorts of pages you can add easily.
But before you do it is worth thinking about the purpose of the page so you can choose accordingly.
For example a blank page which is fully customisable in Squarespace 7.1, or a portfolio or blog page which work quite differently to blank pages.
Brand marks FAQs
-
I’ve written an article here, about how to choose a hex code.
-
Brand marks from my shop can only usually be customised by choosing your brand colours.
However if the change is very small (for example removing the pips of a pear logo), then it might be possible for an extra fee.
For a more complicated change, it may be necessary for me to design you a custom brand mark.
Fill out the form below to get in touch.
-
By default I supply you with an RGB, PNG with a transparent background.
This is because my brand marks are aimed at creative businesses wanting to build an online brand.
If you would like a CMYK file for print get in touch below.
You can read more about these file types in my blog post here.
