Abstract pattern with beige and light gray brush strokes resembling palm leaves or tropical foliage.

surface design

Clea’s surface design is inspired by a curiosity in the world around her, especially her floristry and the great outdoors.

Her work often starts life as observational drawings, evolving into playful mark making with paints, which are then digitised and recoloured.

Some patterns and prints stay quite pictorial while others become abstract as experimenting with texture is a very important part of her work.

Her artwork has been licensed and continues to be sold on fabric with Hawthorne Supply Co. Previous licensing with PBS Fabrics, Motif mint tins and Golden Coil journals and diaries.

All work is copyright Clea Broad. Contact for commissions, licensing and other enquiries.
