Terms & conditions
LAST UPDATED: 12th April 2026
Please read these terms before purchasing from me or working with me on a project. By placing an order or proceeding with a project, you're agreeing to these terms.
Clea Broad is a sole trader trading from 38 Ticehurst Road, London, SE23 2TJ, operating cleabroad.co.uk.
Who I am & what I do
I offer two types of products:
Templates: template brand marks and Squarespace website templates, available to license through my shop.
Professional services: bespoke website builds, website template restyling, and related brand and design work, carried out on a project basis.
Different terms apply to each, as set out below.
Templates
What's included
Each template product listing in my website online shop sets out clearly what you'll receive. Please read the listing carefully before purchasing. If you have any questions, please get in touch before you buy.
Licence
When you purchase an existing template from my shop (brandmark and/or website), I’m granting you a personal, non-exclusive license to use it. This means you may use the template for your own business or a single client project only.
You may not:
Resell, redistribute, or share the files with others
Use the product for more projects than your license covers
Claim the original design as your own work
Use the product in a way that's unlawful or harmful
If you're unsure whether your intended use is covered, please ask me before purchasing.
Designers
If you are a designer, customising one of my website templates for a client, I reserve the right to be credited or remove my credit on request.
Refunds on custom colour brand marks
Your re-coloured brandmark files are created to order. Once you've made your purchase and confirmed your colour selection, I begin work on your files. Because each brand mark is made specifically for you, it is a bespoke product and is not eligible for a refund once work has begun.
The brandmark files I supply are intended for screen (RGB). Colours may vary between on-screen display and printed results as they are not print files (CMYK) and due to differences in monitors, printers, inks, and materials. I do not guarantee exact colour reproduction.
Customers are responsible for ensuring files are suitable for their intended use, including printing. I recommend test prints before production runs. I am not liable for any discrepancies, printing outcomes, or damages resulting from the use of our digital products.
Due to the nature of digital downloads, all sales are final and non-refundable.
If you have any questions about a brandmark or colour selection before purchasing please get in touch at hello@cleabroad.co.uk before you buy. I’m always happy to help you make the right choice.
Refunds — website templates
As this is a digital product, all sales are final.
Your template is delivered via a personalised transfer process rather than an instant download. After purchase, I carefully copy the template and invite you to access it as a contributor. Once you accept this invitation and the template has been successfully transferred, delivery is considered complete and you will have full access to your website.
At this stage, I remove our administrative access and you have free ability to customise the template.
Due to the nature of digital products, and the fact that access cannot be revoked once granted, I’m unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations.
By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to waive your right to a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
If you have any questions before purchasing, I’m always happy to help—please feel free to get in touch at hello@cleabroad.co.uk to ensure the template is the right fit for you.
Images in templates — royalty-free photography
All of my website templates include photography to help you visualise how your own content and portfolio images will look in the design. Where this is the case, the images are sourced from reputable royalty-free stock libraries, such as Unsplash and Pexels, and are licensed for use in template demonstrations. These photographs are not included in the template licence and may not be used on your live website. Before launching your site, you'll need to replace all placeholder images with your own photographs or images you have the rights to use.
Professional services
Use of AI tools
I use AI tools, including Claude (by Anthropic) and ChatGPT (by OpenAI), to support my work — for research, writing assistance, and the synthesis of information. All creative direction, strategy, design decisions, and final outputs are my own. AI is used as a working tool, not as a replacement for the thinking, craft, and expertise I bring to every project. If you have any questions about how I work, I’m always happy to talk it through.
Project scope
All project work is agreed in advance. Before we begin, we'll set out clearly in writing what's included, what the timeline looks like, and what we'll need from you.
Changes to scope
If you'd like to change or add to what's been agreed once a project is underway, I'll discuss this with you and let you know if it affects the timeline or cost. I'll always give you the go-ahead before any additional charges are made.
Please note it may not always be possible to add more to a project if I have clients booked after your project. But I will always try to be as accommodating as possible.
Your responsibilities
To keep the project moving, we ask that you:
Provide any content, images, or information I need within the agreed timescales
Be available to review and give feedback at the agreed stages
Let me know promptly if anything changes on your end that might affect the project
If delays arise because of late feedback or missing content, the timeline will shift accordingly.
Revisions
Your project includes a set number of revision rounds, as outlined in your project agreement. Additional revisions beyond this may be charged at my standard hourly rate.
Sign-off
Once you've given me the go-ahead on the final version, the project is considered complete. Any changes requested after sign-off will be treated as new work.
Support
I’m here to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, and I’m happy to offer guidance with any of the following. Just email me at hello@cleabroad.co.uk and refer to my support page.
Website Templates (No-code support)
I provide 30 days of support for template installation and general setup questions. My templates are designed to work without any coding. If you choose to add custom code to your site, I may not be able to assist with any issues that arise as a result.
My support does not cover questions that are Squarespace related. Please see my support page for more information.
Brandmarks (custom colouring)
If you purchase brandmarks, I will customise them using the hex colour code(s) you provide. Please double-check that your chosen colours are correct before submitting, as additional revisions may be subject to an extra fee.
Template restyling
If you’d like to use my template restyling service please get in touch before purchasing the template. The template is included in the price of my service. This service is dependent on my availability. Please get in touch with any questions.
Custom Squarespace websites
If you’re looking for a fully bespoke Squarespace website, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I take on a limited number of custom projects, which are quoted separately.
Technical Requirements
Before purchasing my templates, please take a moment to ensure the following feels like a good fit for you:
Squarespace platform
My templates are designed exclusively for Squarespace, so you’ll need an active Squarespace subscription to use them. You can start building without paying for the hosting, but you do need to set up a free account linked to the email that you provide to me.
No-code approach
Everything is built to work without code, making it easy for you to customise your site. If you decide to add custom code, this is done at your own discretion, and I’m unable to guarantee compatibility or provide support for any issues that may arise.
Using your template
A basic level of confidence using Squarespace is necessary to buy a template without hiring me to restyle it for you. You’ll be responsible for adding your own content, images, and edits to bring your site to life.
Additional services
If you’d like extra support—such as template restyling or a fully custom website—these can be arranged separately and are not included in your initial purchase.
While I always aim to create a smooth experience, I’m not responsible for issues caused by third-party tools, platform updates, or changes made outside the intended use of the template.
When I restyle or custom design a website for you there will be a handover, where I show you the basics of updating your website.
Fees and payment
Digital products (brandmarks and website templates) are paid for in full at the time of purchase via my secure checkout.
For professional services, the payment schedule will be set out in your project agreement. This typically includes a 50% deposit to begin work, with the remainder due at an agreed stage or on completion.
All prices shown on my website are in pounds sterling. I am not VAT registered.
If payment is not received when due, I reserve the right to pause work on your project until payment is made.
Intellectual property
All original work created by me (Clea Broad) — including templates, brandmarks, and bespoke designs — remain my intellectual property.
Once full payment has been received:
For templates — you are granted a non-exclusive licence to use the template as described above, worldwide in perpetuity .
For custom work — ownership of the final deliverables transfers to you, unless otherwise agreed in writing
I reserve the right to include completed project work in my portfolio and to share it on my website and social media, unless you ask me not to at the time of project completion.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a professional services project after work has begun, please let me know as soon as possible. Any work completed up to the point of cancellation will be charged at my standard rate, and the deposit is non-refundable.
I reserve the right to cancel a project if I’m unable to move the project forward. In this case, I'll refund any fees paid for work not yet completed. I am not liable for any delay or failure to perform my services due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, family emergencies, natural events, technical failures, or interruptions to essential services. In such cases, I will always communicate with you as soon as possible and make reasonable efforts to reschedule or continue the project as soon as it is practical to do so.
If payment is significantly overdue, or you don’t provide me with feedback, images, and website copy that allows me to move forward with the work, I reserve the right to move onto my next client project and you may have to wait until another space opens up to resume the work.
Limitation of liability
I take care with everything I produce. However, I cannot be held responsible for:
Loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunity arising from the use of our products or services
Issues caused by third-party platforms (such as Squarespace), which are subject to their own terms
Content or images supplied by you that turn out to infringe a third party's rights
My total liability to you in connection with any project or purchase will not exceed the amount you paid me for that specific product or project.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
Questions?
If anything here isn't clear, or if you'd like to talk through a project before committing, I'd love to hear from you.
