How should I look after my hat or headpiece?
Clea's hats and headpieces have all been hand made and are all delicate so should be handled with care.
It is important to only touch them with clean, dry hands.
Do not attempt to reshape the hat in any way or you risk bending internal wires, snapping the foundation material etc.
Do not get your hat or headpiece wet. Fabrics and materials may stain or lose their shape. If it does accidentally get wet let it dry naturally.
How should I store my hat or headpiece?
To keep your hats and headpieces in the best possible condition, when they are not being worn, keep them in their hat box with the lid on, wrapped only in white acid free tissue paper. Use white acid free tissue paper to keep veiling in shape and to support any hat embellishments or feathers so there is no weight put on them.
Do not keep hats or headpieces in humid conditions, and do not leave them in direct sunlight or it will bleach the colours.
How should I look after my collar?
Collars can be cleaned through specialist dry cleaners at your own risk.
How should I store my collar?
Try to keep your collar supported in the presentation box with the acid free tissue to avoid unnecessary creasing and damage.
How will I know if your headpiece or hat will fit me?
All Clea's headpieces and hats are ‘one size’ unless otherwise stated. If you do need to measure your head, use a soft tape measure. Place it around your head, positioned mid forehead, just above the ears.
How can I make sure my headpiece is secure in my hair?
Some pieces are secured with a metal hair comb. They can also be fitted with an elastic hair band that sits around the back of the head, just under the hair line or on a tulle covered metal hair band, both of which have various colour options to choose from.
If you have fine hair you may find it hard to keep headpieces in your hair with only a comb. A top tip is to twist a small section of hair and secure it with two crossed kirby grips. Secure the comb on to of this.
Can I try on your pieces before I buy?
