Seedlip, the producers of premium distilled non alcoholic drinks, is a brand I have worked with on other creative projects. This latest project has been to design and make fox and hare masks, using their brand colours, copper wire (to represent the copper foiling on their packaging) and natural materials, to reflect the brand's roots.
I worked with bride Emma to create a bespoke antique blush pink hydrangea headband to wear with her veil, based on one of my headpieces she had bought from the bridal boutique The Wedding Club. She wanted the same flowers, but a larger and fuller design for a bigger impact. Ultimately she decided to return to the original headband as the proportions worked better with her dress and hairstyle.
For the 2017 European tour of English electronic music duo, Lamb, I have created some dramatic bespoke costume accessories for Lou Rhodes, the singer, and also lent some of my archive pieces.
For the launch of their drinks menu at All Bar One, Seedlip asked me to style a large glass cabinet at the Leicester Square flagship bar. My brief was to display the drinks bottles in a way that was sympathetic to the brand. I used faux grass, succulents and moss to line the shelves, transforming the cold clinical glass into a woodland scene. I sprayed tools copper , and I stencilled the Seedlip logo onto wooden display crates in a dark green, both colours to match the Seedlip branding. Other details included the use of green pea pods and dried orange slices, a nod to the ingredients in the drinks. I also used faux air plants on a curtain of fairy lights as an eye-catching backdrop to the scene.
Bride-to-be Rebecca contacted me after seeing my floral fashion on my Etsy shop to ask if I could maker her a bespoke bridal headpiece using red, burgundy and purple flowers.
Photographer Perou & stylist Andie Redman collaborated on a shoot, fusing fashion and costume, based on a contemporary Joan of Arc. I was asked to create a bespoke halo headpiece, referencing stained glass depictions of her in churches as a saint.
My 'Maria' and 'Lola' faux flower headbands have been featured in an editorial for the December 2017/January 2018 edition of You & Your Wedding. The editorial was photographed by Ben Riggott on location in Spain, and styled by Peta Hunt.
Charlotte bought a beautiful floral dress from Dolce & Gabbana featuring a blue and purple hydrangea print for her best friend's wedding. She had struggled to find floral combs that matched and contacted me to see if it was something I could help with
Bride Sabina commissioned me to make her a faux flower headband for her wedding day, as she was travelling to Italy to get married and needed something she could pack in a suitcase and that would look fresh all day.
